With the crisp autumn air and double celebrations, the "2025 Woding Fan Fishing Competition and Woding Exploration Club Xinxiang Changyuan Store Anglers' Friendship Tournament," the grand opening event of Woding Exploration's first flagship club store, successfully concluded in Changyuan, Henan Province on October 27th. The successful hosting of this event not only provided Changyuan anglers and Woding fans with an opportunity to exchange fishing techniques, but also marked the official start of a new journey for Woding Exploration Club Xinxiang Changyuan Store to deeply cultivate the local market and serve anglers.
On the day of the event, as dawn broke, the competition venue was already bustling with people. The enthusiasm of the anglers dispelled the chill of late autumn, and the competition kicked off in a lively atmosphere.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Huaibin, Deputy General Manager of Woding, expressed his high expectations for the competition. In his speech, he stated that he hopes to explore clubs and fan events like this, so that fishing is no longer just a solitary hobby, but a lifestyle that can be shared, exchanged, and allows more people to find happiness. In his opening remarks, Zhang Huanli, manager of the Xinxiang Changyuan branch of Woding Exploration Club, said: "I hope that through such competitions, fishing will not only be a personal hobby, but also a gathering of the community; and that Woding's Exploration Club will not only be a place to buy equipment, but also a spiritual haven for anglers to communicate, grow, and inspire each other."
Xie Hewei, president of the Changyuan City Fishing Association, also attended the opening ceremony and gave high praise and best wishes for the event. After the solemn oaths of the referees and athletes, the 2025 Woding Fan Fishing Competition and the Woding Exploration Club Xinxiang Changyuan Store Anglers Friendship Tournament kicked off with great enthusiasm.
This fan competition was a 5.4-meter hand rod fishing contest in a mixed-species pond, lasting 3 hours. On the field, all anglers were fully focused, their movements—adjusting the float, baiting the hook, casting, and reeling in—flowing smoothly and effortlessly. They used their accumulated fishing experience and composure to engage in a battle of wits and patience on the water's edge. The entire competition was tense yet well-organized, fully showcasing the unique charm of competitive fishing.
To do a good job, one must first have the right tools. Among the rods used in this competition were the GT Mini ultralight all-purpose rod, which shone brightly at the "First Woding Fan 'Huashan Sword Competition' Fishing Tournament and Taicang Dulou Xiaohai Liusongsong Base Fishing Carnival," as well as star products from the King's Sword series, Dynasty series, and GT series. Woding's product performance won unanimous praise from anglers at this fan competition. Meanwhile, the professional fishing clothing and hats provided by Woding to all participants also became a beautiful sight on the field. In this realistic competitive environment, the superior performance and reliable quality of Woding products were repeatedly tested.
After three hours of intense competition, the winners of each award were announced. Ultimately, Cui Xuri won the championship, with Ms. Zhang Huanli, manager of the Woding Exploration Club Xinxiang Changyuan branch, crowning him champion; Niu Hailong was the runner-up, with Mr. Liu Huaibin,deputy general manager
of Woding, presenting him with his award and certificate; and Cai Zhuohan won third place, with Mr. Xie Hewei, president of the Changyuan Fishing Association, presenting him with his honor.
Ms. Xu Yulan, Planning Director of Woding Brand Center, presented the prizes to the 4th to 6th place winners; Mr. Yue Yiming, Manager of Woding Offline Marketing Department, presented the awards and certificates to the 7th to 10th place winners. With that, all ten top contestants took to the stage to receive their awards and honors, creating a lively atmosphere, and the winners all left with a sense of accomplishment.
Following the awards ceremony, Zhang Huanli, manager of the Woding Exploration Club's Changyuan branch in Xinxiang, congratulated all the winners and expressed her gratitude to the fans and anglers who supported and participated in the event. She also stated that they will continue to hold more events in the future, allowing more anglers to connect through fishing, and making the Woding Exploration Club a link and landmark connecting anglers in Changyuan City.
The competition may have ended, but anglers' responsibility to protect wild fishing resources is endless. After the closing ceremony, guests and participants joined the Woding Spark Program's fish stocking activity. With their participation, live fish fry were released into the water, swimming towards the deeper parts of the river.
